In general, the price of thicker sheet metal is relatively high, which will increase the manufacturing cost of the car. Moreover, as mentioned above, the processing of thick sheet metal parts requires higher energy consumption and more complex processing equipment, which will further push up production costs. In the automotive sector, cost control is crucial. Automobile manufacturers need to reduce costs as much as possible under the premise of ensuring quality in order to improve the market competitiveness of products.
 
In contrast, thinner sheet metal parts have some advantages. Thin sheet metal parts can reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel economy, while also reducing raw material and processing costs. However, the strength and stability of sheet metal is relatively weak, and problems such as deformation are more likely to occur during processing, which requires more refined processing technology and higher technical requirements.
 
To sum up, in the automotive field, the choice of sheet metal thickness needs to comprehensively weigh many factors such as processing quality and cost. Automobile manufacturers should reasonably choose sheet metal thickness according to different parts and functional requirements to achieve the best balance of safety performance, fuel economy and cost control. Only in this way can we stand out in the fierce market competition and provide consumers with more high-quality and efficient automotive products.
